There is / There isn't

Cuando queremos decir en inglés que "hay algo", utilizamos there is.

Si queremos decir que "no hay algo", utilizamos there isn't, que es la forma abreviaba de there is not.

Se utiliza cuando el sujeto es un nombre contable y singular (por ejemplo, coche).

También necesitaremos usar un determinante indefinido, como a o an (a cat, an apple). 

         There is a shop in my town. 
         There isn't a bridge in my town. 

Para preguntar, le daremos "la vuelta" a la pregunta:

         Is there a horse in front of the school? 

Y podemos responder:

         Yes, there is. 
         No, there isn't.
